Not everyone can afford a private dentist, and this group lists the alternatives: federally qualified community health centers and county health departments that charge on a sliding scale and take Medicaid and CHIP, dental schools where supervised students treat patients at a fraction of private fees, free clinics run by charities and dental societies, mobile and in-home dentists who serve nursing homes and rural areas, and the insurance agencies and discount plans that pay for care. State and local dental associations run referral lines, Give Kids A Smile days and Mission of Mercy weekends where volunteers treat hundreds of patients for free.

Hours are published for 5 days a week. The most common schedule is 8 am–7 pm. Note that it does not open on Saturday, Sunday. Miami is in Florida, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Miami Dade College delivers what higher education often avoids: honesty, value, and results. It teaches practical skills, respects students’ time and money, and creates real pathways without hiding behind prestige or debt. UM Miller is the opposite. It leans on its name while hierarchy, politics, weak mentorship, and conformity undermine the experience. For many PhD trainees, the research visibility and career outcomes do not justify the cost, pressure, or hype. MDC builds competence and mobility. Miller too often builds expensive rΓ©sumΓ©s padded by branding. One earns respect through outcomes; the other expects respect because of its name.

I honestly feel extremely disappointed with my experience at Miami Dade College. I have dealt with multiple issues throughout my time here, but the situation with remote testing was one of the most frustrating experiences I have ever had with a school. I paid for my FCLE exam, studied for hours because it is required for graduation, and made sure I was fully prepared before my scheduled appointment time. The instructions clearly stated that a Zoom link would be sent approximately 30 minutes before the exam. I waited, checked my inbox, spam folder, refreshed my email constantly, and nothing was ever sent. I emailed multiple times during the scheduled testing period asking for help and received no response while my appointment time passed. This is not just β€œan inconvenience.” This exam is required for students to graduate, and the lack of communication and organization creates unnecessary stress for students who are already under pressure academically and financially. Unfortunately, this was not the only issue I experienced at MDC. I have also dealt with professors taking extremely long to post grades, making it difficult for students to plan classes, financial aid, graduation req

Absolutely awful experience with Miami Dade College. Do not go here if you expect communication, professionalism, or support from staff. Nobody answers phone calls, emails get ignored, and scheduled appointments are a complete waste of time because staff members don’t even show up. Specifically, Vincente Medina and Abraham Gonzalez were impossible to reach and provided zero help. I had meetings scheduled with them and they didn’t even show up. Wasted my time. Trying to get basic information or assistance feels like chasing people for weeks with no response. The school makes students feel completely unsupported and frustrated. There is clearly a major lack of accountability and organization at this school. Save yourself the stress and look elsewhere.

Unfortunately, the class of Saturday in North Miami Beach ( Nivel 3) has been very difficult to follow because the professor moves through the material extremely fast and does not provide clear explanations. Many topics are introduced briefly and then the class quickly advances to new content without making sure students understand the lesson. I respectfully request that the department review this situation, as I believe the current teaching approach is negatively impacting students' understanding and performance in the course. Thank you for your attention and support

Unfortunately I have to agree with the low posts here. Tried to give some feedback in person and they have been retaliating against me ever since. When I came back after a long hiatus, one of the advisors asked if I would ever join the military when I’m clearly out of the eligibility age and my reason for signing up did not state anything of the sort. The man was extremely creepy. Another woman advisor did not ask me to enroll in social or history classes, she demanded it. She said: β€œyou should take history classes” in the most condescending way and I had to clap back with sure, if MDC is willing to pay for them. Mind you, I approached them to talk about careers in STEM fields. These people assume they know you based on one or two observations and then they use whatever you divulged or whatever vulnerability you have against you. They retaliate hard. When you ask to attend in-person classes, they will move you to online and you have no way of telling if the information they are providing is accurate. You won’t know if fellow students are actual students or people with agendas. Their selection of in-person classes at convenient times for working adults is nil. If you have the me
